- Full-time, 1st shift, 40 hours per week
- Monday through Friday 0700-1730 (10-hour shifts) or 0900-1730 (8-hour shifts)
- One weekend per month
- Two holidays per year
- On call 4-5 shifts per month
Pay Range
$25.30 - $37.95Major Responsibilities
Chamber & Equipment Operations
-
Operates chamber control console, hand valve compressors, and all associated support systems, including:
-
Compressors
-
Accumulator tanks
-
Compressed gas cylinders
-
Control panel, UPS, and status panel
-
Inert gas purging systems
-
Oxygen analyzers
-
Communications systems
-
Fire deluge and handline systems
-
Troubleshoots and assists in repairing chamber support systems.

Operates and maintains in-chamber clinical devices such as:
-
Transcutaneous oxygen monitors
-
Vital sign monitors
-
Ventilators and respiratory equipment
Patient Care & Monitoring
-
Prepares patients for hyperbaric procedures, provides education on safety and ear clearing techniques, and performs pre- and post-procedure assessments.

Monitors patients during treatments and may accompany patients inside the multi-place chamber
-
Computes standard and emergency decompression calculations using U.S. Navy and ASLMC DCAP protocols.

Obtains and uploads digital wound photography to track patient progress.
Equipment Maintenance & Safety
-
Prepares, disinfects, and maintains ancillary equipment used within the chamber environment.

Performs equipment safety checks prior to hyperbaric procedures according to department guidelines.

Modifies decompression calculations to ensure additional safety margins during emergency bailout scenarios.
Wound Care Support

Assists with wound care tasks including:
-
Dressing changes
-
Dressing applications
-
Wound cleaning
General Responsibilities
-
Performs patient positioning and transport safely using proper body mechanics.

Demonstrates knowledge of age specific patient needs and developmental principles across the lifespan.
Requirements
-
High School education
-
1 year of experience in a healthcare setting which includes taking vitals and assisting in clinical procedures
-
Ability to withstand rigorous environment (loud alarms, mechanical and electrical equipment, chemical and explosive hazards, blood and body fluids, enclosed spaces, varying temperatures, pressurized chamber exposure)
-
Ability to pass thorough medical screening which includes medical history, chest x-ray, pressurization test, audiology test and Caisson’s radiology studies.

Pathway to CHT, CHRN, CHS or CHWS (certification is required within 1 year of hire date)
-
CHT – issued by the National Board of Diving & Hyperbaric Technology
-
Qualifying pathways include RT, EMT, Paramedic, LPN, RN, NP, PA, MD, Military Corpsman

CHRN, CHS or CHWS – issued by the American Board of Wound Healing
-
Qualifying pathways include Hyperbaric Tech, Diver Med Tech, MA, RT, EMT, Paramedic, PA, RN, LPN, NP, MD, Veterinarian, Podiatrist
