CME For MOC Program Guide Designation Statements for ABMS Boards

Note for ABMS Board Certified Physicians: Some ABMS boards will accept accredited CME towards their MOC requirements. As an accredited provider, the UHMS can now register educational activities as CME with evaluation*** and feedback*** (Part II) for ACCME collaborating boards. Please review the learner instructions and submit the necessary requirements for your credit to be reported within 30 days of course closing. Learner CME credit must be reported no later than December 1st of the reporting year. If your board is not collaborating yet with ACCME to report CME for MOC, please continue to submit your credits to your certifying board directly.

ABMS Collaborating Physician Boards PARS Reporting for UHMS Educational Activities Participation Threshold to earn CME/MOC/CCP credit on behalf of collaborating ABMS boards:
ABMS/PARS Collaborating Board Certified Physician Participation Threshold:
1. Complete all evaluation questions;
2. Submit an acceptable reflective statement (on evaluation). The reflective statement must demonstrate meaningful engagement with the educational content and address the requested prompts. Specifically, it must describe at least one intended practice change after participating in the educational activity;
3. The learner reviewed individualized feedback provided following completion of the assessment.

UHMS Education Coordinator next steps prior to recording credit into PARS:
• The Education Coordinator will review reflective statements. Faculty, planners, UHMS Education Committee, or other parties may also have access to the statements and provide additional individualized feedback.
• The Education Coordinator will confirm all requirements are met before submitting CME/MOC/CCP credit through the PARS system. This includes:
o Verified completion of all educational activity requirements;
o Met the participation threshold described above;
o The evaluation is completed with required questions answered and participation hours designated;
o The required learner information is received (hours earned, date of birth, board ID, full name, licensing state)
o PARS eligibility confirmed and submitted.

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to [TBD] MOC points and patient safety MOC credit in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. CME for MOC points are earned through completing a comprehensive evaluation component that assesses individual learner competence, performance, and/or the impact on patient outcomes. Some boards require evaluation feedback that will include a summary of what was discussed and the best next steps for the learner. The evaluation feedback will be provided to you upon submitting the evaluation form.
