Description
We are a boutique hyperbaric clinic in The Woodlands, TX, dedicated to providing innovative, non-invasive HBOT treatments for chronic wounds, recovery, and wellness. Our small team focuses on personalized patient care in a supportive, community-oriented environment. As a growing practice, we're seeking a forward-thinking MD to guide our clinical operations remotely
Role Overview:
We are looking for a recently graduated MD (2023–2025) to serve as our Medical Director on a flexible, part-time basis (5–10 hours/week). This non-onsite role emphasizes regulatory compliance, protocol oversight, and strategic input for HBOT services – no direct patient treatment required. Ideal for a new physician building experience in hyperbaric medicine while maintaining work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure clinic adherence to UHMS (Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society) guidelines, Joint Commission standards, and Texas state regulations for HBOT.
- Review and approve patient treatment plans, protocols, and safety measures remotely.
- Provide virtual consultations for patients, and case reviews (e.g., wound care integration with HBOT).
- Oversee documentation, quality assurance, and incident reporting.
- Collaborate on clinic policies, equipment maintenance, and growth initiatives (e.g., expanding to long COVID or athletic recovery programs).
- Occasional virtual meetings with our team; no travel or on-site presence needed.
Qualifications:
- MD degree from an accredited U.S. medical school, with recent graduation (2023–2025 preferred for fresh perspectives and eagerness to learn).
- Active, unrestricted Texas medical license (or eligibility to obtain within 30 days).
- Board eligibility in a relevant specialty (e.g., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine); hyperbaric/undersea medicine certification a plus but not required (training support available).
- Basic knowledge of HBOT applications (e.g., wound healing, decompression illness); enthusiasm for hyperbaric therapy is key – we'll provide onboarding.
- Strong communication skills for remote collaboration; proficiency in EMR systems (e.g., Epic or similar).
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to patient safety in a small-team setting.
